Feeling Weepy

This time of the year has me feeling weepy.  Why?  I miss University.
I miss being at Mount Allison University, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Political Science in 2007.  Set in scenic Sackville New Brunswick, Mt.A was a wonderful place.
I miss the people, the campus, the professors, yes....even the studying.
Tomorrow is the first day back for 'Frosh', or first year students.  I often check out their website, www.mta.ca, to see what is going on with my favourite little place!

Now, I must confess, although I do very much miss Mt.A, during my time there I called my mother everyday, often more than once a day threatening to quit/drop out/fail out/ take a year off/ transfer.  I put my poor family through hell- but I did graduate on time and with a decent GPA (well, I considered it decent).

Even though I went through my first major break-up, and it was the break-up from hell, discovered the evils of alcohol, and became a regular at the campus pub- I also learned a lot about myself and the kind of person I wanted to become.  I'm still working on myself, but Mt.A did help me a great deal.  I love that place- even though I have mounds of student debt- I am still very fond of that little school and the four years I spent there.

Air Mattress Saga continued

I made cookies, yes at 11:00 pm at night, to bribe Stefan. He gets to eat the cookies if I get the air mattress.  We shall see how this pans out, since this is what was happening while I was baking:
Stefan took cover when I brought out the camera, stating- "I don't want to be on your computer thing"... sense of guilt coming out?  I think yes.
Bmer loves getting his picture taken.  This is him, also on my air mattress, playing with his ducky.
Cookies are ready!

 Cookies all done!
Mom's recipe!

Nursery Pictures

The nursery is coming along.  Here are some photos.

Another restless night

Restless leg syndrome (RLS) has became second nature to me for the past month.  I haven't been sleeping... at all.  I usually pass out around 6am and then am wide awake by 10am.  Yahoo... 4 hours of sleep a night, or should I say morning.

Since I can't sleep I putter around the house like a zombie.  I'll take a bath or two- helps soothe my aching legs and back.  Watch some TV- I found a great channel that plays music videos from 2-7am called Montreal Metro.  I'll make a snack, sometimes I'll do some baking.

Around sun rise I usually doze off on the air mattress I had my husband pump up and leave on the living room floor.  But tonight my routine came to a roaring halt.  MY HUSBAND DECIDED HE THOUGHT IT WOULD BE FUN TO SLEEP DOWNSTAIRS ON THE AIR MATTRESS!!  Not only am I in a zombie-like state, but now I have to try and be quiet!  I'm typing slower than usual right now to lessen the noise since hubby is sleeping not 3 feet from me...on MY air mattress.

I made myself an egg salad sandwich... in the dark so as not to wake him with the light.  I'm missing my music videos as our only TV is in the living room and I don't want to wake him.  Not only is he sleeping on MY air mattress he is also snoring!!

Why don't I wake him you may ask?  Well that is simple.... he is the best husband anyone could ask for.  He works long hours at a demanding job, then comes home and rubs my feet and legs (without too much complaint), and finally... he is my best friend.   So I will let him sleep tonight... but if he mentions sleeping on my air mattress again tomorrow night- I may have to deflate and hide it!!

Dog vs. Baby

My cousin-in-law, who is a vet, told me that typically family's with good pets have good children.
She explained to me that when a family comes into her office and the kids are out of control running and getting into everything, their pet is hellish to work with.  Whereas she noted that the behaved dog usually comes with a behaved family.  I was so happy to hear this because our dog is very well behaved!!!
I've been saying since February; 'I hope the baby is as good as Bmer'.

Bmer is very much like a baby.  He has three basic needs- 1. hunger  2. bathroom  3. play-time.

Every morning I feed the dog, then he has a big drink, and turns in circles until I let him outside to do his 'jobs'.  He then comes in and wants to play- this is me throwing whatever toy he brings me and then he fetches.  What a good boy.  I hope Bmer will train the baby!

Today Bmer and I went to my parent's house for an afternoon visit.  Bmer loves visiting his doggie-mommy and doggie-sister, Sophie and Emma.
He also loves the great treats his Grammie and Pop give him.
Tonight's treats consisted of fresh, local, organic yellow beans!!

He sure loves his veggies!!

Welcome!

Welcome to Bmer the Farting Dog!!  A blog about my life.  Here is a little about me:
- married to a wonderful man- SV
- mother to Bmer the Shih Tzu; he tends to have smelly toots
- youngest of two girls
- live in a small city

This blog is going to cover a lot of different areas of my interests- much like my Pinterest boards.  I am interested in so much, yet have the tendency not to follow through.  For example, I have started a scrapbook (do not have even one full page completed), have about three different cross stitch patterns on the go, etc.  Although I do only read one book at a time- and will finish it, even if it's awful.

My current project is finishing the baby's nursery- he is due Oct 9 and there is still a lot to do!  Keep watching for pictures.
